I'm going to install a camera or two at my golf course. I have some suspicions of an employee or two. Also we've had a couple break ins last year. I already dumped 1200 on a security system last season. Exterior/interior motion detectors linked to the police department etc...... I'd like to put some cameras in for dual purpose. Catch a burglar and bad employees. I'm wondering if I should go with a hidden camera (smoke detector/motion sensor that is a camera etc....) . Or if I should put them up for everyone to see to deter employees and maybe break ins? If it was someone that was casing the course and sees the cameras might think twice? On the other hand I'd like to catch the low life SOB's. What do you think? Anything I get I'm running wire to my office TV which sits downstairs from the clubhouse. I can sit there and view/record without anyone knowing.
id hide them so you could catch the person. but if its a routine thing were multiple people are breaking in you should install some that are obvious so it deters them
Sooner or later the employees will find out about the hidden ones so it may be better just to put them up out in the open, at least at first. Then, once everyone is used to the idea and knows how to hide their actions, I would put up the hidden 1 or 2 cameras. They won't know that the video in your office views more than just the open camera and they won't wonder what you are doing.
I know of a place that did both and I think this is your best bet. Think about it...It really makes sense.
Not ringing in all the golfers. Stuffing their pockets with my money. Giving away beer. etc....... Not all of them, but I have questions about a few.
