Hello everyone, my name is Shawn and I'm from South Mississippi. I started bowhunting in 1990, and have hunted locally and in several Midwestern states. I've been out of it for a bit due to some health problems (MS, chronic severe migraines, and a shoulder & cervical spinal injury from competing in BJJ) which caused me to have to retire early from my business as a land surveyor, but I'm trying to ease back into some archery and hunting. I've been running trail cams on our place in the mean time, and this year I've been walking to put them up & check them, which is a huge improvement over having to use the atv. I hope to take some more great bucks on my place.
Glad you found us. Join in the conversation. Good to get out and do things. Sitting on the couch and taking yourself out of the game will kill you. Hunting is the best therapy for what ails you. Keep it up.
Thanks everyone! I'm in Wiggins in Stone County, in south MS, about 30 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. I hunt right out the back door, although I have hunted extensively in the MS Delta and in IA, MN, WI, & IL. All my out of state hunts were with a bow, and all were for whitetail except for one bear hunt in northern MN in 2008, though I'd previously hunted big whitetails there before.
