I'm just getting into this world after going to the Big Buck Classic in Omaha this year. I'm from the UK where we cant bowhunt but I am planning to move over to the USA at some point as my girlfriend lives in Omaha.

I've bought myself a PSE Stinger from this forum to start training. I've had it a day or so and after some tweaking I am getting better. The bow came with some Carbon Fury arrows, I seem to have split at a couple of ends where the nock fits in and lost a couple already...not good.

I had a couple of questions:

    1) I have set the draw length on 'I' on the cam, what is this in inches? Ive measured my draw length and I got 28.8 inches, I wonder if this is way off.

    2) I know i should get arrow 2 inches longer than my draw length, does it matter if they are too long? I guess i can always cut them down but I hear its difficult to do properly.

    3) are Eason Bloodline arrows any good? Anything else for decentish carbon arrows?

    4) Somewhere on the net I saw a video of 'tracer' arrows, how do they work? I cant see how they could fit a small enough battery in there.

    Thanks,

    Leon

Welcome to the site Leon! Congrats on the new bow, and welcome to the addiction of bowhunting :tu:

    1) I have set the draw length on 'I' on the cam, what is this in inches? Ive measured my draw length and I got 28.8 inches, I wonder if this is way off. I'm not personally familiar with the PSE cams so I'm not sure what the I is for

    2) I know i should get arrow 2 inches longer than my draw length, does it matter if they are too long? I guess i can always cut them down but I hear its difficult to do properly. 2" longer is a safe guideline for arrow length. I like my arrows as short as I can get them while still providing safe clearance for my broadheads at full draw. Arrows can be longer, but the longer they are the weaker spined the arrows will act. This can effect how your bow is tuned.

    3) are Eason Bloodline arrows any good? Anything else for decentish carbon arrows? There are plenty of good arrows out there. I shoot Carbon Express Maxima Hunters.

    4) Somewhere on the net I saw a video of 'tracer' arrows, how do they work? I cant see how they could fit a small enough battery in there. You replace the entire nock with something like a luminock, or tracer nock. The have a pressure switch in them that lights the nock as the arrow is shot. They all have small tube style batteries that install inside the arrow shaft.

Your best bet to get good answers here is to post these questions seperately in either the bowhunting or Tech portion of the forums. They get much more traffic than the intro section.

    Hope this helps!
