Got to shoot my Nitrum Turbo today out to 60yrds to finish the sight in procedure. Well I'm shooting my Pile Drivers 466grs at 308fps. My 20yrd # is 9, my 60yrd # is 39, so I need tape 30, but the lowest tape I have is 33. So what do k do now?
Which sight do you have? I just checked the tapes and mine goes down to 24. Unfortunately I have already given out tapes 30-35. But good news is that you should be able to order the site tape pack and it will be in there. Or you can just mark the blank tape.
Mine is the Tournament Edition (TE5510). It only had tapes starting at 33. I'm gonna call them tomorrow.
I talked to hha customer service this morning asking about tapes. I was talking to some lady & she kept putting me on hold to ask questions about the tapes. 1st time I got put on hold she came back & said that they don't have tapes for a set up that fast, I told her that I don't run a heavier arrow, I'm all ready running a 466gr arrow. Put in hold again, she came back & said to move my sight closer to the raiser, my response was its were it should be, when I look through my peep every thing lines up perfect, put on hold again, came back & said to move my peep lower in the string that should get me a tape. Needless to say it's very irritating to pay $400 for a sight & have to hand write a tape!! So now on to my next step, I'm going to turn the bow down to 65# & see if that slow it down enough for a tape. Love the sight!! Customer service sucks!! She really seemed like she did not want to deal with me! Sorry for the rant!!
Can you print your own tape? I know it would be a hassle and there should be one included. But you wouldn't have to turn your poundage down.
I have an HHA Kingpin on my Halon and have not yet completed the 60 yard shooting, so I don't know which strip I'll need. However, it seems ridiculous to have to reduce the speed of your setup because of a sticker. Even if they don't want to supply strips in every package for a bow of your speed caliber, they should at least have some preprinted versions they could send you (or at least the ability to produce custom strips for customers and send at no charge).
I agree it's a hassle. I wanted a fast bow so I bought & a good sight. That way I wouldn't have to buy another one any time soon. Now I'm gonna look into printing tapes. But even with the bow turned down to 65# I'm still shooting a 400gr arrow at 310fps. It looks like I might have a tape for this speed.
Do you still have the first tape that you setup with? If so can you measure between 9 and 39 and tell me the distance? I found some more tapes and wanted to check for you. You should not have to drop your poundage. If I can find a tape that matches the measurement from 20 to 60 I will mail it to you.
