How much more accurate will the yardage tape be if it is sighted in at 60yds rather than 40yds? My shots are not as accurate at 60 as they are at 40. Thanks for the help

Well if ur not shooting well at sixty yards then you just have to practice more. That's why your not shooting accurately.

I have checked mine at 40 yards and before I commit to a tape I will check it at 60 yards and then compare the 2. The tape number you get at 40 should give you a reference to start at 60 yards.
    my calculations-
    20 yards = "8"
    40 yards = "28"
    I should be using a "44" tape
so at 60 yards I should be at "52" on the setup tape(44+8=52)
I would check at both 40 and 60 yards (if possible)

First of all before you go through the sighting in for the tape make sure everything on your bow is exactly how you intend to leave it as any changes in arrow wt. Draw wt. Etc. will change your the tape and have to start all over again as I found out the hard way.

Now as far as your original question I would have to ask how accurate do you need it to be? I sighted in at 40 and 60 just to cross reference them to see if I came up with the same number and the tape was off by by 1 # using the 40yd sight in method. Now the difference in the tapes is minimal but the 60 yd method is the more accurate method but not by much so it comes back to how accurate do you need it.

Also I would suggest going through the sighting in process a few times over a few days just to double check the #s you came up with on the set up tape. It seems like a lot but it will save you the aggravation of going through the process all over again. Of course a lot of guys just use the white tape and put thier own marks on it for different yardage much like you would sight in any other sight and it seems to work just fine. Hope this helps

good info. I have been playing around with it for a couple of weeks now. I know where my 20 and 40 are now. I have the 60 dialed into plus or minus 1#. So I guess I will have to check the 40 tape number and compare it to the closest 60 tape number that I have come up with. I think either way it will be as accurate as I am going to need it to be. Thanks for all the replies.
