I have HHA sites but I don't have 1 with adjustable rheostat. If low light when practicing, I use the small light.
Will a rheostat remove the need for a small light? Or, is too dark - too dark?

Just curious as to the benefit.

The main benefit of the rheostat is to cover some of fibers in bright sunlight to prevent starbursting.

Thank you for your reply. That is what I thought. I purchase the 3ft length fiber and in the daylight, things are pretty good.
I just purchased a .010 3ft length and it is awesome. I'll continue with the 3ft length and use a light for low light shooting.
