I bought two HHA Kingpins last month. I was told that the newer Kingpins will not rust as they have new hardware. Does anyone know if this is true?

I don't know about "won't rust", but the new hardware is significantly more rust resistant. I believe they're using a different type of metal with some sort of coating on it. Personally I'd like to see stainless hardware, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.

Exactly, and thanks for your response Justin. I owned HHA sights for 10 years and then got away from them because of rust. I hate spending my hard earned money and the crap. I'm still looking at other sights just in case but I'm hoping they have fixed the issue.

I have had a new King Pin for a few months now and so far so good. No rust or issues to report.

Also this is my first Matthews bow. I've been a Hoyt guy. On my Hoyt the HHA sight feels great. However to me the Mathews bows are a little top-heavy so this sight makes it feel even worse. Do you get used to that?

I Have gotten used to it, my sight is also mounted closer to my riser than usual so that could be why I done feel a big difference but I am used to it now.

Personally I'm used to it and the extra weight doesn't bother me. Although if you find the balance to be an issue I know a ton of people running side or back bars these days. I've been thinking about it myself.

I use the bee stinger counter slide on my setup to offset some of the weight of the HHA. I am not a fan of a back bar while hunting but this works well for me.

After messing with them and shooting I am sticking with the HHA. Since it's a little heavier I felt like I could hold on the target a little steadier. Maybe it's just me though

I actually just sent my sight in because of rusted micro adjustment screws. All the screws they use now are "Black Nickel hardware that doesn’t rust," so the rust issue is no more! YAY!! Im having my screws replaced with the new screws, I just hope to get everything back together before the upcoming 3d.

Yes they told me any sight made after January will not rust. Both of mine were made in the last month or two so I'm hoping this is true

That was the only thing I didn't like about the Halons when I shot them. Everything else about them I really liked. I think if I just shot one for a week or two I would get used to it.

I have a HHA Kingpin on my Halon 6. I have to say I noticed that the screw didn't rust after a season of me spraying my bow with Scent killer. My HHA DS-5019 would be rusty after every deer season. Glad they made an improvement.

I tend to wipe a very light coat of corn oil on my equipments metal parts. It helps for sure

So, just an update on me send him my sight in. So after I told them about my micro adjust screw and how it's rusted and I was to buy new screws so I can see if my shop can replace the stripped rusted screw. Even says send it it we will fix it. I mail it in... it's in my mail box today and I'm glad as hell because I have **** in like a week and a half. Open the box and find my sight with one new sight tape page with sight tapes. Cool new tapes. Go to see if the micro adjust is replaced and it's not and actually the sight has not been touched. F*** HHA. Why the hell would they just mail it back in touched no explanation. Wasted my time. I'm so losses right now. That's a lot of damn money for a sight that rusts and customer service that just sends **** back untouched no explanation.
