Time for a little sight debate guys. I'm still trying to find a new bow sight. Looking for a single pin that's not going to break the bank. I have heard a lot of good things about HHA and Black Gold. Id be looking at either the 5519 series with HHA or the Ascent Verdict with Black Gold. For those who have used the Black Gold Ascent Verdict single pin what are your thoughts on the sight and what about it stands out to you? Thanks

I have owned every HHA sight made as well as a black gold pure driven. I personally like the black gold sight. The pin on the black gold auto adjusts to the perfect level and I think the sight is tougher. Another thing I like better about the black gold is the second and third axis adjustments are easier. The one thing that made me leave HHA was paying good money for a sight and the thing rusts. You are probably going to get more HHA fans on here because they sponsor the site

Thanks parkersdad I am like you. The rusting issues and not having 2nd and 3rd axis adjustment was my 2 concerns with the HHA as well but i don't know anyone who has used Black Gold so I didn't want to go out and drop that much money on a sight and be disappointed. How easy was it to get the Black Gold sighted in using the provided tapes? Thanks for your input!

Sorry don't use a single pin at the moment but if I switch, I'll choose either HHA or Black Gold so you're on the right track there. Best of luck!

The black gold was really easy to sight in. I went to my archery shop and shot through the chronograph and then used the tape the chronograph said and it was right on for me. Here's what black gold recommended when I called them if you do not have a chronograph. This works as well because I use this method on my other bow. Put a blank tape on there and site in at 20, Mark that with a line. Work your way back to 40 or 60 yards and mark those with a line. Hold the sight tapes up beside your blank tape and match up 20 and 60 until a tape is dead on. That's the tape you need

I'll second the MBG. Great tough sight. I like the math behind the sight tapes also.

Just FYI hha sights don't rust anymore. They replace all hardware with some
Plated version to fix this problem so any new sights are good to go!

I also have the newer HHA king pin. I love it, also they fixed the rust issue. I don't know about black gold but I wont need another sight ever so I'm a fan of HHA.

Another for MBG. I have the Ambush single pin. It is great. The pins are brighter in low light than HHA from what I tested.

MBG, hands down! Shot my buddies this summer and fell in love. I currently shoot a spot hogg, but and considering picking up a new rig at the end of the season and it will 100% be outfitted with a custom MBG. Just can't decide on the large or small guard as of yet.

Black gold Ambush single pin and love it. Love that it adjusts for different light. Haven’t heard many bad things about HHA though.

Both are excellent sights. What it really boils down to is whether or not you shoot with a quiver on or off. If on, how close to the bow to you want it? If using a TS, you have to have an adapter brackett to use the HHA which to me, kinda defeats the purpose of reducing as much weight and complication as possible.

As far as 3rd axis, let me pose a question: if either sight is quality made, and your bow is quality made, do you really think things will be out of tolerance that much, or is 3rd axis adjustment just a mental comfort thing?

You can just use a quiver that mounts to the upper part of a riser if you don’t want to attach a quiver to a hha sight with the adapter

^^^ true, depending on bow. When I had an HHA I used a bow quiver that mounted to the top and bottom of the riser. The slider knob was almost in the way, but it worked. Went to a 3 pin MBG Ascent because I didn't care for ths single pin. This was a few years ago.
