Hey guys going to buy a new bow sight and have pretty much decided to go with HHA. I'll either be getting the OL-5519 or OL-5019. Can't afford the king pin priced sights even though I'd love to have one right now have a little one on the way. Other than the amount of fiber and the rheostat that you can dim the fiber down with are there any differences between the two. My other question is related to noise. To anyone that have used the 5519 do you feel that you get anymore noise from the rheostat since it's screws/slides to dim the rheostat and what's the benefit from one over the other. My concern is that the 5019 will be to bright when shooting in direct sunlight ( sighting it in/ 3D tournaments ) but I also don't want a sight that is going to make any noise because it has a lot of moving parts. And to anyone that uses HHA did you have to buy a riser mount quiver due to the slider/wheel or will most quivers work? Thanks in advance for your help Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Don't know a lot about the 5519 but I'm pretty sure HHA thought about that rheostat making noise before they built it. I absolutely love my 5019 that has no rheostat. I'm sure the rheostat model is just as good if not better because you can quickly adjust to different lighting situations because the fiberoptics on HHAs are really bright and tend to starburst but with rheostat you have the option to adjust as needed. Even with my 5019 if I want to dim the brightness I just put a piece of black tape over it to suit it but I rarely ever have to do that. As far as the quiver mounting goes they make all kinds of after market brackets that will mount to your sight and I believe HHA offers one as well. I've seen guys build there own but you have to be careful when doing so but it can be done fairly easy or like you mentioned you could probably go with a bow mounted quiver. I have both versions. The rheostat does no screw it slides and is hard to slide. It doesn't move or make any noise. I upgraded to the rheostat because the other was to bright some times. I didn't think it mattered but after a season I found it did and it was worth the upgrade. Also hha customer services is awesome. Great sights! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I've got a 5519 and I love it. My rheostat does make kind of a squeaks from time to time barely noticeable.
Simplman did you have to buy a certain bracket like a riser mount in order to mount your quiver to your bow or can you mount the quiver/quiver bracket straight to the sight? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
JHasty, I did have to buy a special quick release bracket for mounting. Sorry I can't remember the brand my bow shop used. But they did have to use one.
