I just put on a HHA 5000 adjustable sight on my Bowtech Sniper. The sight was easy to put on and sight in. It is built rock solid and I like it alot. My question is regarding the yardage tapes that come with the sight. There are 48 numbered yardage scale tapes. They are marked for how your bow was sighted in @ 20 and 60 yards. You first sight in using a sight in tape at 20 yards, record the number from the sight in tape. Then shoot at 60 yards and lock down the adjuster. You then subtract the 60 yard number from the 20. You use that number to find your bows range tape out of the 48 yardage tapes supplied. You then take the appropriate tape and using the 60 yard mark, put it right on the needle marker you locked down at 60 yards. You are now sighted in anywhere from 20 to 60 yards.

The yardage tapes must correspond to arrow speed. Does anyone know if there is a table to show you what your arrow speed is vs the yardage tape you used for your bow?

I don't own a chrono, and not too worried about my speed, but it would be nice to know!

Install one of the 3 tapes with all the numbers on it. Then, sight in DEAD ON at 20 yards. Record the number your pin is on. Next, sight in DEAD ON at 60 yards, and record that number. Subtract the 2, and that's the number tape you need.

For this to work properly, it is absolutely critical that you are absolutely, positively DEAD ON with your elevation at 20 and 60 yards. If you are, it works quite well.

It's not important that you know what speed your arrow is flying. That does figure into the equation, but only numerically. You don't need to plug the speed into the formula to determine which tape you need.

I wasn't asking how to sight it in, I read the instructions, they came with the sight. I was just wondering if you could figure out your arrows speed. I know speed isn't a big deal, but curious. But as you said, once you get some good groups and plug in the numbers the sight is dead on. I would recomend it to anyone wanting a single pin adjustable sight. My only complaint, if that, is that the pin is a little large. But I think that can be changed, you can also install a scope lens too and it is very bright.
