Curious about the Tree Spider harness. What were your thoughts on it, Justin (aside from what you mentioned in the blog:D)?

I'm curious about the Spider too. It didn't appear to buckle around the waist, is that correct?

Whenever the manufacturers start releasing the products. Most of the stuff won't hit shelves for a few months yet.

As for the Spider Harness - I love it. Very easy to use and very light weight. We had samples about a month ago I got to play with and I am very impressed. I will be wearing one this fall for sure.

Possibly. We may redesign it a little before we get more made. That was a limited run item. We did just get some new hats though. They'll be up for sale shortly.

If it's not in the cart, we can't get it.

Correct, it doesn't buckle around the waist. But it does buckle into the Scent Blocker jacket. Making the safety vest and camo jacket one unit. I love that about it.

I've got a few more questions about this Spider Harness. First off do you know what the price tag will be on it? Also I've been using a Muddy for a couple of seasons now and really like it. Problem now is I've lost over 50 lbs and my Muddy is HUGE!! I was planning to buy a new one this offseason, but with the announcement of this Spider I may hold off for it. I believe you have used the Muddy and was curious what you thought of them compared to each other.

This makes me wonder about using it without a Scent Blocker jacket. I don't use SB stuff too much any more. I have come to love my Under Armour hunting gear. I always wear my harness underneath my clothes, I wonder if it would have the same affect.

I checked out the Spider at ATA as well. It is pretty nice, but I personally still think I would prefer a Muddy or similar. The Spider Speed harness looks more my style, because its more minimalist. I have a Gorilla Exo-tech, which is very similar to the muddy and the speed harness. Light, quick and stays out of your way. ....That being said, the spider has some really neat features and if you always use a scent blocker suit that integrates with this, that is pretty sweet.

Its hard to compare them to each other since I've hunted in the Muddy, but not the Tree Spider. The Spider is very light and very easy to put on. One thing I really like is that when you adjust either side of the harness it tightens up the legs and the shoulder straps at the same time.

As for wearing it under your outer layer it won't be a problem. The clips that hold it into your jacket are very small and you don't really even know they're there. Again, just my observation from testing it out in the office.

In any case, I'll have a Tree Spider on this year so I'll let you know what I think.
