Something my son says to me at times make me think.... A lot of times he says "when I grow up like you" to me, problem is I am not so sure I am grown up. I am 32 years old and do not feel any different than I did 10 or 15 years ago. I still talk about dumb ****, make inappropriate comments, farting in public and watching peoples reactions is still fun, Ted is the funniest movie I have saw in years, I like to watch Spongbob and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and I still don't give a damn about the UofM.. When do (did) you "grow up"? If or when any of this is deemed inappropriate, then I hope to never "grow up".
You tend to grow up after life kicks you in the balls a few times. At least I did. I was in my mid 40's before I got tired of getting kicked in the balls.
When you learn being an OSU fan makes you a dueshe. My guess is when you see your son start to act like you
Look, it happens. No set time frame. After I had survived 2 years in combat, been shot, blown up, lived through weeks of malaria in a hospital and survived... well I grew up for a couple months. Then I had a relapse. I'm back where I was before. Nothing more fun than a good joke on someone. Nothing more fun than just having fun messing around. I sure hope I never grow up again.
Well im 22 and i feel like im still 15. But i can do and go wherever i want and i have money. Of course david was like 70 when i was born and Scott was still riding motorcross lol Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
I refuse to grow up! I'm still young anyway, but I will not allow myself to grow much past where I am now.
45 going on 12 here. Difference being, I also know when to be an adult now. It sucks, but sometimes you just gotta do it. Best to keep it to very short periods though so as not to explode.
I'm 22, and I act like it.... When I have to nothing better than going to the neighbors (5 20-22 year olds) and having some beers and b.s.ing about anything and everything. Eating deer steaks right off the grill, shooting bows, shooting guns, fun stuff! My girlfriend of 4 years has learned to put up with it, so it's all good
I hear ya man. While I don't do the things I did back in my 20's, the past 20yrs has flown by and honestly, I don't feel any older or much different. I'm not sure I ever will.
Being the 7th son in my family I've always tried to act older and I've always hung out with older people. I (try) to lead by example for others rather than just for myself. Not to say I haven't or don't do dumb*** things but I try to keep them to a minimal. I remember as a kid always looking up to people that were older than me and as an adult I just try to be someone worthy of respect from the next generation. for example, I never got into watching sopranos because I didn't think it something I want a kid to watch or catch me watching it. Not to say I didn't like it it's just I didn't think it was appropriate for TV. Same with married with children and the simpsons, funny but really dumb*** shows you got nothing out of. IMO I think a lot of time we as adults we what to do certain things or act a certain way because were adults and we can handle it but the younger generation is watching us and will not only copy us but take it the next step further. We see it every day. Nothing better than having younger people come to you for your advise or recommendation. But that's me
depends on a persons situation I think. I had to grow up quick . Worked every night thru high school to help out at home. had to drop college to work a couple jobs to help out when mom was sick. Then had both parents pass away before i was 25.
That's tough. Glad your here. Interesting words to challenge men from an Andy Stanley study I did that year. - men who will reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously and invest eternally. http://mensfraternity.com/about/
Heck I am twenty seven and I still have fun with my buddies and enjoy everything that I did when I was 18. One of the big differences is that I am more responsible now and have more money to enjoy hobbies like hunting, shooting etc.
