I just got exclusive rights to a 97 acre farm in Three Oaks Michigan. I might be able to make it up there for a week every other year. Is that anywhere close to you? If so would you care to join me if I go up this year?
One of the professors here at the university owns it. Its his summer place and he tells me it is full of deer.

Three Oaks is in the SW corner of the lower peninsula, just north of the Indiana border in Berrien County. Defnitely some good deer in that area. It's closer to me than Germ if you want company. :D

I will let you know when I head that way. I'm sure 97 acres of mostly woods could handle 3 bowhunters. If we put a plan together I'll make it a point to make a trip this year. We may be able to use his cabin. I'll find out.

Yeah, Greg thats a great area. We were at the Kalamazoo Traditional Bowhunters Expo this past weekend, from KZoo to the Indiana border we stopped counting deer around 150... that was just on North side of I94... amazing amount of deer. Thats right in the Area where Comptons is held every year. You should come up to Comptons and make a scouting trip as well out of it! By the way, thats about a 3 hour drive for me! ;):D

I believe its $138, which allows you to shoot either an antlered (at least 3" of antler) or antlerless deer. And I believe the combo tag is $276. The combo license has a restricted (at least 4 points on one side) and non restricted (at least 3" of antler) tag. You can use both tags to tag an antlerless deer during archery season.
