Hey everyone I'm new to bow hunting and would like to introduce myself. My name is Marty and I live in Ontario. The only type of hunting I've ever done is grouse hunting with a .22 Ruger. I want to get into deer and moose hunting and would love any and all advice on things to help me along the way. I'm looking to get my 1st ever compound bow this year so I can start hunting this fall. I would like to hunt more mobile as compared to sitting in a tree stand. Cheers
Welcome to the site Marty You're going to love bowhunting. Read as much as you can on bowhunting. Where in Ont. are you? A couple good books for deer hunting would be: Also, be sure to check out the Hunting Knowledge section of BH.com, here's the link ---> INFO Finally, of course, use the forums! There's a ton of guys & gals that are very knowledgeable lurking around here. So ask lots of questions. The more specific you can be, and the more background you can give, the more they'll be able to help.

Welcome to the sight recon! Man one day I would just like to se Canada! your in a hunters paridise! This is the place to learn!
Thanks for all the great info and the link to the knowledge section. Looks like I have a few days of reading ahead of me! I live in Sault Ste. Marie and will be hunting as far east as Thessalon and as far north as mile 67 if anyone of you are familiar with where that is. I went to the local gun and bow shop and they seem pretty legit. I am trading in my M14 and getting a bow from them. They carry PSE, Bowtech, and APA, but I think I saw a few others laying around on the used rack from Hoyt and Bear. Cheers
