Amazing video right there! That was a bit too close for me though. Their ability to climb is unreal.

Wow! That was a close encounter. At first, I thought you had posted the link below. I saw it on the Jay Leno show a few weeks ago. This bear climbs the guys' ladder stand.

Dang, I had no idea they were so nimble climbing a tree. If you pissed one off you are basically food. Can't out run them, out climb them or beat them up.

HA! I've seen that situation a few times up at camp. Bears have terrible eyesight and are pretty curious. When they climb the tree like that, they're just trying to figure out what's up there. As soon as they figure out whats in the tree, like this one did, they boogie the hell outta there!

Oh, and every time I say bears a nothing more than big raccoons, I'm wrong.....I would rather have a run in like this with a bear than a raccoon!

    Neat vid!

    I knew that (black bears).

That re: (big racoons) jus tkills me (don't know why). I swear I thought of that as the bear was at height, lookin' around.

    'Course....again...I wasn't behind the lens!

One time I walked into a bait and there was a young bear there. When he saw me he grabbed the bucket and took off running. I was getting sick of them breaking the rope and stealing the buckets, so I gave chase. He dropped the bucket and got the hell outta there.

When he was gone, I flexed and beat my chest like Tarzan.

Cool video!!! I've had bear crawl my tree on 3 different occasions. Closest was with In about an Inch of my leg. I didn't yell at the bear or anything, he just crawled back down. Like Dan said, their eye sight sucks. I gaurantee this bear thought the hunter was another bear In the tree as the bear swatted at the hunter. Chances are this bear never hit this bait again.
