I'm looking hard at a couple bows for my next bow. In my price range are the Diamond Black Ice FLX and the Bowtech SWAT. I don't have a dealer near me so until I have a chance to shoot both could you tell me any pro's or con's for these bows. Also please tell which bow you would choose and why.

The SWATs are sweet! They have a special edition all black with green inserts that is pretty wicked lookin'.

Where in northern NY are you?

The Black Ice is going to be a bit smoother, but the SWAT will be a bit faster. I personally like the slightly longer SWAT, I think it's one of the most under rated bows out there. It's basically an Allegiance on smooth mods, and that was one of my favorite hunting bows of all time.

I just ordered a Swat. Personally, if i was gonna order a Black Ice, I'd find an 09, this was a bow in my opinion, that doesn't need the Flex Guard. I also like the speed and length of the Swat over the Black Ice.

I'm a fan of the SWAT over the Black Ice as well.... I owned a Black Ice and wasn't crazy about it. It was smooth as all getout, but just didn't have the speed I crave.

Now the SWAT isn't necessarily a speed bow either, but it carries enough oomph to satisfy my cravings. Like Matt said, I love the platform, as I owned four Allegiances and still have one hanging in my shop that I'll never sell.

Good luck with your new bow, you can't go wrong either way.

Not really, I concider you upstate. What we do hate is us being called "Upstate". We are North Country, not Upstate. :D

Really like my SWAT, I shot a lot of bows the Z7, Hoyts line and I likes the SWAT the best.

I love the look of that black and green swat. Had I seen that I probably would have bought that over my marquise.

Then don't post. The thread title does say "Hey Bowtech owners". Guess that leaves you out.

Only 12 votes? I find it hard to believe that there are only 12 Bowtech owners on this forum.

There may be a lot more BT owners than that, but perhaps many fewer with experience with both the models you mentioned above. :)

i shoot a bow out of the Diamond series. "the rock" not the exact model but close enough i guess. Shoots very quiet. I have no complaints about it.
