I have the HTC Droid Incredible and I love it! It has been super tough so far and its super fast. The Droid X is freakin awesome too. Ive seen way too many iPhones broke for me to want one.
I understand that. If someone is a big music person, the I phone is probably the best way to go.From what I understand, the Droid X is the way to go for pics and video but I might be mistaken. Are you or anyone aware of a good app for listening to local AM radio stations.Preferably free but if I know it's a good one,I will buy it.
My 4+ years of iPhone experience says that the 3Gs is a great phone and the iPhone4 sucks! Just sayin...
I had to buy a new phone, recently. I decided to get my wife the new iphone 4G and I took her 3G unit. So far, she's happy. I couldn't care less....lol. I did have a situation the other day where I needed to get a photo to a client. I set up my email account; took the photo and emailed the photo in about 2-3 minutes. I'm not saying it's "great". I'm saying how easy it was to do. I don't text....ever. I don't do the web search/surf thing (haven't ever) on the phone. I probably have WAY too much phone for my needs.
For business use the iPhone and iPad are really taking off. I use my iPad at the office and in meetings with customers. By the time I leave the meeting I have sold them one or the other. Both droid and iPhone are the top products in the phone world. My buddy is like jeff, he really does care. He called me tonight he needed help finding a cigar bar. While on the phone I looked it up and sent him the address.
I'll add that my two options when I purchased the Droid was the BlackBerry or Droid... I chose the Droid for better web browsing capabilities and the option of GPS when traveling. Also purchased this for music, so it killed three birds with one stone! Didn't need to buy a Nuvi, saves space when traveling (acts as back-up computer), satisfies the need for an IPod...
I was sure you could but playing on your tv is the main question I have.I would assume you can use the usb port and hook it up directly to the port on the HD tv.The main thing I liked about the Droid X is the HDMI hookup which allows me to plug directly into my surround receiver and upscale to 1080p while using the 1 main remote.(the phone is 720p) I will say the battery life SUCKS on the Droid X.I was fully charged this morning(took off charger before I left) and by the time I got home from work,I had 10% battery life left. The Iphone 4 is much better than that from what I understand.(that alone would be worth the wait)I don't have a very good signal at work so I didn't play on it much but did a little. The searching for signal while trying to play online probably really ate the battery but still.
I want an actual app that will allow me to listen to MY local AM stations. There are local high school games(sometimes my daughter will be playing softball) and I like to listen to the broadcasts.I also like to catch talk radio once in a while. Tunein radio did not have my local am station.(might be my local stations fault)I have an FM app that is just like a radio and plays anything that is broadcasting.
I downloaded Advanced Task Killer to my phone and it seems to help some. If you download it, long hold your home screen and add the widget. Dont put the app from the app drawer on your home screen. Having the widget there allows you to just touch the widget icon and it kills any apps you might have running in the background. I have a habit of touching it every time I lock the phone now without even thinking about it.
I checked my wife's X and she had almost a full battery at 9:00 tonight but she has not used her phone.Looks like it is just a result of playing on the phone.
When I searched "local radio" some weren't there, so I found a couple more through the "by location" search feature, don't know if you tried that or not. Which one is that? I tried but couldn't find a good one.
I have had a iPhone 3Gs and now have an iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is better IMO. I too am a fan of Pandora radio.
