I'm pretty sure this is the same big 10 pointer I drew back on 3 times last year but never released an arrow on for one reason or another. He's still out there and liked the scrape I doctored up. I hope he slips up some time this season. Look for a blog in the next few days about my doctored scrape. This wasn't the only shooter to pay it a visit.
I'm willing to bet you get another crack at him this year. And if you do I better put one of these bucks I keep seeing down or you will WHOOP me in the big buck contest.
They are haunting. I'm not sure my giant is alive or not. I got word my cousin hit a very large 8 and described it to me and although I swear I counted 10 points, the description is close so either there was another giant 8 around with the 10 or he mistook the deer he shot and never found. The next evening I saw a huge 8 but in the low light, it's hard to confirm. The next 3 weeks will tell. Good luck John.
John, Get a profile of him? Man he looks good. I agree - same buck. If he and the huge 9pt are side by side, who you shooting!?
Good luck with that buck John, I remember the trail cam pics and story from last year. I'm pulling for ya, I hope you get a crack at him!! Back at ya!!
This coming weekend would be an awesome time for him to show up in front of you since you'd have someone there to do an hour-long photo shoot with him.
Blog is up with the rest of the story and pics.. http://www.bowhunting.com/blog/post/2009/10/26/Doctored-Scrape-Really-Got-Results.aspx
He's a stud John! Good luck on catching up with him this fall. I'm looking forward to some up close and personal pictures when you get them.
That's the kind of buck we all dream about! Hope you get him! Taxidermists are sure expensive though!
I hope you only have to draw on him once this year and that's all it takes. Good luck, he is a beautiful buck.
