Or is he? Tiger tees it up next week for the first time this year at Torrey Pines. I know there are few and far between golf fans around these parts. But, do you think he gets it back and is the Tiger of old? Or is his golf domination days over?

Personally I think he's toast. Lightly burnt toast though, not entirely fried. He will win again and probably a major or two left in him. But IMO there is no way he ever returns to what he once was on tour. He was the mentally strongest competitor I've ever see in sports ever (Jordan close 2nd). I think he's lost that and it's not coming back. He thrived off that edge that he had over everyone else. He was on top of the mountain and nobody was a remotely close second. I really believe he's just another good golfer on tour. He doesn't have that edge and nobody fears him anymore. Like I said he'll win, he'll have stretches and glimpses of the old Tiger, but the dominating days are over. That and there is just WAY too much young talent on tour now. Too bad in a way it's a once in a lifetime chance to see someone dominate their sport the way he used to.

Ok enough said..... start inserting sarcastic comments.

My opinion is very similar to yours on this, he will still be very competitive but it's unlikely he will be dominent ever again.

Believe it or not... Age is starting to become a factor. I believe he is what? 38. While certainly he is physically capable of doing most anything yet he is now out of his physical prime and that gives a little bit of an advantage to the younger guys. This will slowly become more apparent every year from here on out and will make it even harder for him to dominate.

He will be strong but never the same.

Edit: He is only 35. I thought he was much older. Okay... He still have a couple years before the physically stuff starts taking hold. Hard to say I guess.

Tiger is a free man, he's on the prowl.

Golf course and the local town skanks beware, Tiger is back;)

    True or False

Tiger has one major win and one top 5 finish (not including the win) this year.

I say false. But it is a close one.

My sentiments EXACTLY. Very well put. I think the young talent is a really big factor in this. It has pushed the entire field to a new level.

Other than the mind cleared thing....I agree with the above.

He's FAR from being done (IMO). He'll be back at No. 1 before long.

He's going to win more majors and do more skanks, it's how he rolls.

If he doesn't get back to "the next level" ;) , he's still a damn good golfer. Everyone loves to watch the mighty fall, much like when Mike Tyson imploded. You knew the talent was still there, but he couldn't put it all together once he lost the intimidation factor.

I thought I heard him say the other day that he has a renewed commitment and has been working/practicing very extensively to get back in form. We'll see I guess.

I don't think his age is going to really effect him for a while to come. He is by far one of the most fit golfers on tour and still has one of the hardest work ethics. I personally hope he gets back to where he was, as I found watching such domination to be extremely entertaining.

Wholeheartedly agree. One thing Tiger's done, though, is up the game for a LOT of golfers in the fitness dept.. 20yrs ago, I don't think there were that many "fit" golfers. Nowadays, many of these guys are up before dawn, running/lifting and eating canteloupe.

Tiger's successes have spawned this more than anything else. It works for many. Some, I think it's hindered their games (David Duval, for instance). I don't think Bruce Lietzke ever SAW the fitness trailer.....and he was one of the most consistent players on TOUR for years.

It's a different game out there, today. The Lumpy's of the world winning tournaments are getting fewer and fewer.

LOL maybe true. Could be back to his old ways and catch fire (or something else)

Tyson had the IQ of an ice cube.

I do agree that the "it" factor is gone. His unburstable bubble exploded and he's in a place he has never been. I just think it's going to continue to effect his game. The pure talent will surface from time to time but Tiger just isn't Tiger anymore IMO.

It will be interesting to see what happens next week. I'd be a little worried if he doesn't have at least a good showing at Torrey Pines. He pretty much owns the place (7 wins I believe)
