Wants to play in the NFL again. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2011/01/24/fanhouseat48herschelwalkerpo.DTL
Hey, you guys forget. He wasn't ever worth a damn after he had that knee injury. He never ran HARD again. He became one of those "Make contact and I'm going down". He had a very short span of greatness. The rest was a disappointment. Kept waiting for him to bounce back and run HARD. All he did was hit the deck at first contact. That's the way I see it and I was a Hershael fan. I wouldn't even entertain the talk if I were and owner or coach.
you tackle him ... lol ... it would be quite the story for the team that signed him ... business wise, I would think he would command a good buck for the revenue he would bring in ...
Just too old. Age kills in the NFL. Clay Matthews would break him in half. But it would be cool to see and if he was succesfull thatd be even cooler. Just VERY doubfull.
I would love to see him make again in the NFL, even for 1 season. He was a beast when I was a kid (appears he still is to this day as well).... I think Mr. Miller above is being overly critical of Mr. Walkers NFL days.
Could have been one of the greatest. IMO ..Just seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Cowboy fans should remember the "Herschel Walker Trade". It is what helped turn them around in the 90's
He was a great college running back and an above average pro running back for some period of time. For other periods of time he was an average pro running back. I would not entertain the thought of him playing again. I am talking about a pure runner. If you add in his receiving skills, he moves up a level.
I'm all for seeing good comebacks. But, after Favre's Neverending Story, and Armstrong's attempt to comeback, I think many are wanting to relive a past glory.
2010, his most recent. Don't get me wrong, I have a huge amount of respect for him. But, it seemed like 2008-2010 were the years for all the old timers to want to make a comeback. Yes, it's great that athletes "past their prime" in pro sports are able to do it. But, IMO, when you retire, stay retired.
