Personally, I haven't failed. I have children that are partially black. I saw no color when I fell in love with their mother. Apparently she saw it 15 years later and made an issue of it. She felt she wasn't "black enough" being married to a white guy. So she left for a black guy..I can tell you this, she's still searching... I digress. I say it again, I never have treated blacks any differently than others. I live with them in my 60% black neighborhood. I grew up with them in 50/50 school system. I went to a historically black college. What am I saying? Im saying I lived my entire life and never had much if any confrontation with blacks. Do I have a best friend that is black? Nope. Do I need to? Nope. But I have only 2 best friends to start with. I understand some of the things that have happened in our history, you can't go to Va State Univ and major in history and not hear or read about it. I am "woke".. But I am not going to feel guilty about anything in this lifetime. I have hurt nobody to have my meager lifestyle. I set an example to my children that struggle with being mixed race , treat people how you want to be treated, most times they respond likewise, if they don't, it's their issue.

So let's just expose the elephant in the room shall we? What have yall, meaning those responding to this thread, done to help "heal" race relations and the disparities between the two races? I will go first. Nothing. I have done nothing. Why? I don't feel I need to. I look around me daily and I see many blacks living a hell of a lot better than I. And you know what? I am glad for them. I don't resent it one bit, because I know that is what America is about. The pursuit of happiness. Im thankful they took advantage of what many have died for and worked to get it.

Nothing wrong with good debate, respectful discourse and finding middle ground without shouting and name calling has gotten me through life just fine.. Thanks to you all for a reasonable discussion. Need more in this fashion.

What have I done? Treat people with respect and be honest. Probably only things I have done. That and have honest discussions with people even if it is uncomfortable. I respect someone's right to be pissed off at a lot of things based on historical crap, but that doesn't excuse bad behavior. And I will deal with it just like anyone else.

Also Germ, here in VA schools are funded by county/city revenue, real estate taxes, federal funding, and the lottery.

as I said, it's the intentional subsidization of dependence, ignorance, and poverty by the public school system (which is a governmental institution,) that is disenfranchising. They coerce you to exchange your freedom in return for subsistence assurance and provide no positive alternative choices along the way.

The Dependent has no freedom and no representation in government- only enthrallment and subjugation.

Although I get everything you say and agree. There is still a choice. If not, then why do some make it out and others don't? Yes, the dems keep people oppressed by giving them just enough. and they spend their entire lives being a dependent.. but they are not forced. They can change that.

they can, but when at every turn they are presented with a false narrative that there is a salvation on the other side of voting D early and often; then the easy and only perceived choice is to always blame the invisible boogeyman.

It is human nature to blame the Other rather than accepting personal responsibility- it's the easier path.

excellent segment on that in this podcast

I listened to it on the way up to WI property this weekend. Sorry it's 2.5 hours long but it's got some very astute observations throughout.

Oh, I see Rubliacns have no played no part in shaping our government, especially in ...say judicial policy like mandatory sentences among other things ..... carry on. Make sure those rose colors glasses are thorn free.

And many do. Just like the whites. People act like white people don't suffer the same issues as blacks when it comes to the government teet. The same attitudes bias against police issues. Let me tell you a white person doing the same things blacks do in a police encounter will come out in worse shape. It's just not " news" so in the public eye doesn't exist. Hell things I could tell you as first hand.
The eye rolling in some conversation I should be walking around with two empty sockets. Nov. Can't get here soon enough....lol

And no Republicans voted for that ? Do tell? Are we a dictatorship or is there a congress ....tell me how many Republicans were among the 95 yea votes in the senate?

Keep being a sap and thinking that either of these two parties that gave us this government is the solution to fix this government.

Republicans good Democrats bad ...your like a broken record.
