What changes need to happen on each front? I am curious. Not a trick question. A serious enquirer.

Individuals, communities and people in general need to act better, respect each other more and take responsibility.
Policeing and how it interacts segment of communities needs to change as well. Like all fields we have offericers that arent suited to be officers as such needed to be repurposed into other fields.
We also need changes in our judical system and social welfare and safety nets as they are both causing and/or exacerbating the problems.
Like I said changes on all fronts.

Well, yes. Although people acting better, that ain't going to happen. It hasn't since Adam and Eve. We live in a fallen world. I agree, there are cops that shouldn't be cops and teachers that should teach, and politicians that shouldn't be... What specific changes in the Judicial System? Social welfare and safety nets..Are you speaking of government assistance here?

We have judical system is totally skewed with outcomes related to social economic status. And we wonder why we have intergenerational poverty, government dependence and stagnation. This transcends race btw.

What kind of mindset is that. It is entirely possible to avoid having the criminal justice system have any impact on your life. Was raised with expectations from my elders, they wanted their children to do better than them to achieve more. I will never forget my grandfather telling me that I was no dumbass and he expected me to work hard at my studies and go to college. I raised my kids the same way with expectations school was their job homework first. That does not cost money to have a parent actively involved in their child's elementary education, it takes effort and consistency.

what you mean by skewed with outcomes related to social economic status? I think I am reading you right, but I won't comment until I know for a fact

It’s so easy for everyone to say these things when we grew up in entirely different lives than they do.

And I guess that means we grew all grew up with better lives? There is no way to know what people on the internet grew up with. Alcohol, drugs, abuse, poverty sees no color.. That's a bold statement you make. And a blanket one as well...There is this white privilege I keep hearing about. Where can I get that card? There are many of us on here that grew up in very bad environments. You don't know enough to make that statement. I am in no way saying that many of them hadn't had it bad, but there is no excuse in what i am seeing take place today.

99% of us grew up with better lives, yes. And it certainly isn’t a bold statement. It’s the truth.

I grew up with poor parents who were divorced when I was young. I lived in a trailer house with holes in the floor. Our heat/electricity would get cut off regularly because my dad couldn’t pay all of the bills while working 2 jobs.

And you know what? I would still bet that I had it better than most kids growing up in the hood. I thought that was bad, but I don’t even know what bad is considering some of the environments we’re talking about.

I stand by my statement that by the time people are 8 to 12 years of age, they have a good understanding of what is right or wrong. This is true regardless of upbringing.

Ex. Looting and burning down businesses to peacefully protest is wrong.

The truth? Really? How do you know what 99% of us grew up in? You stated an opinion. Not a fact. You ever been to the Appalachian Mountains? Ask them if they grew up better..yes, the hood is bad, drugs, gangs, murder, rape, etc..that happens in white america as well. Yes, maybe not the exact same scenarios but life ain't all peaches in the white community either. and obviously, you know that by how you grew up. What makes you think they have it worse? I don't about MN, but here this part of VA, there are many well to do blacks here and lots of them live way better lives the many whites.

Sounds good. Was just a generic statement. An opinion. You’re taking this way too literally. You obviously know the point I’m trying to make, so why keep saying stuff like “well you don’t know that!!!!1!”

You’re right. I’m wrong. Have a good day my friend! Time for me to head outside and enjoy the 70 degree blue bird day.

So at first it was not a blanket statement and it was fact...remember? now it's a generic statement and an opinion? Im not taking anything too literally dude. I am a 45 year old man that has experience in life and been through some things. As far the point you are trying to make? Yeh, I know, and the fact is you don't know. You can keep your white guilt brother, I don't have any. Have fun

It’s an example of privilege, do you think if he was black or poor he gets the same treatment for raping an unconscious woman?

I think so. I think there are a number of blacks walking around on their 3rd or 4th or 5th conviction free as a bird.. Case in point. Jacob Blake. convicted twice of sexual assault. twice for domestic abuse and once for assaulting a police officer and for brandishing a firearm in a bar..and yet he was walking the streets...so yeh, I do. oh yeh, and he had a warrant for yet another arrest...
