My fishing trip was like 2020. Tripped and launched my fishing pole into the river and lost it. 40 yrs of fishing and never had done that. Haha. 2020 kicking my butt. But on the way out I saw 2 huge bucks bedded on an island in the river. Here is the "smaller" one. The other was the biggest buck I have ever seen.
He is an underage kid with a rifle who crossed state lines which is against the law. Him having that gun is against the law. But somehow that is fine in all of this. Hypothetically speaking. If you had a son, would you have a problem with him doing what this kid did? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In other news... A murder suspect in Minneapolis committed suicide as cops were closing in on him downtown. Rumors started that the cops shot him and now there is more looting going on. Minneapolis police department released video from the city cameras almost immediately of the suspect killing himself to try preventing any uncertainty. What a world we live in. Wife and I spoke of this type of stuff tonight and how much we hate it. Everyone lying and political bs.
A) we do not yet know if he took the gun across state lines or if it was given to him there B) it is not illegal for anyone to transport their legally owned property (gun or not) from IL to WI (literally thousands of hunters do it every year- and whatcha want to guess many of them are 14-18 years old?) C) What law did he violate in possessing the gun? D) you can argue how unwise it was for him to be there in that situation, but literally thousands of 17 year olds have taken up arms to defend our nation and their homes E) All the evidence, all of it is a 100% clear cut case of self defense Here you have another district attorney criminalizing our right to self defense.
If Kenosha police had done the same re Blake's knife we might not have a 17yo kid locked up for premeditated murder.
My stance has changed, just how far I am not sure. I was misinformed earlier and admit as such. I only quote you as we had a back and forth where I was clearly misinformed and not using current facts. As much as I hate them, I abide by local, state and federal laws. There will be a mutlitude of laws challenged with this one. Going to be where you stand on the 2nd Amendment and "your" personal belief in the right to keep and bear arms on where you personally stand. IMO, this in particular could have a resounding effect on the 2A. Good or bad.
Regardless of the lawfulness of the kid possessing the rifle, he had a right to defend himself from a situation where he was in danger of being maimed or killed.
I spoke too soon. Do we know if the gun was registered to him? If not, my post stands, if so, I take those comments back. I agree he had a right to defend himself. Would you have a problem if you had a son in this situation? It’s the one question I keep asking myself and all others who are trying to find reason that this kid was there. I just can’t comprehend it. I’ve discussed all i really have had on my mind about it. I’ll let you all carry on and will keep following along. Will update with any Minnesota BS that’s coming from this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I stand corrected in that WI does apparently forbid possession of a long gun for non hunting/instructional/training purposes for under 18- which is odd because it's does not forbid possession of a handgun for anyone other than adjudicated persons.
Hey I was partially wrong as well- see above. What I can say is if my son* took up arms in the moral cause to defend life and property I would be very proud. Sad but proud. *as all my children are hypothetical; I expect @Germ to chime in in 3...2...1...
The right to keep and bear arms is not regulated by age in the Constitution. Some rulings have stated that the constitution is open to interpretation without ever being specific. Hence why we need a binding, matter of fact and absolute ruling on the 2nd amendment. You can have waverings such as... The right to keep and bare arms, openly or otherwise shall not be infringed, but the discharge of such weapon(s) shall be subject to scrutiny of the courts. Case law will always apply, precedent will always prevail and every now and again a new situation may open a new set of circumstances for lawful/unlawful excercise of the 2nd Amendment. I'm officially drunk and going to bed
This is the opposite of good and it must stop, right now the ferrals of Minneapolis think they can riot and loot at will. I blame the mayor and the governor for this. I would hate to be a guardsman because I would guess due to orders from the mayor and governor they guard will be attempting to do it's job with one are tied behind their back.
Is it just me; or do all these shootings all have mostly the same theme (drugs played a huge part in the actions and results of those action)? Specifically opioids! It seems to me that when someone is high enough to take multiple shots and just keep coming at you screaming do it they are already dead inside.. Makes no difference at that point who pulls the trigger or if you give yourself a heart attach during the struggle.
Watching the news this morning I am pissed off. This is no longer about social injustices this is feral straight up thuggish looting. LeBron and the NBA will not play because some punk thug thought he did not need to listen to police, and now people just wait to hear a trigger so they can riot, loot, and burn. Disenfranchised? No these are people that would kill you to take what you have based on the color of your skin.
