    I qualify for free advice...carved in stone! I feel so lucky,maybe feeling a headache after it all sinks in!I may get in the market for a hand made piece of work...if the son finds job so I don't have to pay for Mustang!It would be so cool to own a masterpiece that is functional!:hail:

    Hey Russ,

    Quick question...Can you use any bear or buffalo hair in your strings? I just happen to know a guy who will send both to you licky split!

    I also have caribou antler, elk antler, and mule deer antler if you care to use them.

    Not too sure if the hair will have any use apart from maybe string silencers.

    The silencers I put on are Musk Ox wool.

    Antler now thats another story:d

    I have a calf hair rest I am gonna put on yours:cool:

    Bear hair and buffalo wool would make great silencers! I'll start packing things up tomorrow!

    Seal hair for rests and sea otter fur for silencers are the best I've found. Problem is you've got to find an Alaska Native to harvest and craft them for you. Alaskan Bowhunting Supply had them at one time.

    Have you ever tried beaver fur? I would think it's similar to otter.

    It's similar to river otter and very nice looking and effective but sea otter doesn't even compare, it's the most dense fur in the world.
