went to the experience concert last night. pretty good time but the seats in front of me were diggin into my legs!!! hands down best was Kenny Wayne Sheperd!!!!! wow dude can play. only TRUE standing ovation the whole night! Satriani was pretty damn good too!!!!!! lead singer from Living Colour needs to shut up and let the guitarist play, dude just kept screaming, Jimi would just play! if it comes to your city go see it! tons of great musicians! but buy your tix early. i got the $38 ones and they were fine but couldnt hear the guys talk into the mics between sets. sheri moon is sexy!!!! Mr. Zombie you are one lucky man!!!!!!!!!
I saw KWS at a riverfront show in Peoria about 12yrs ago real close to when his first album hit... ya, the kid can most definitely play... wish I coulda heard that show man...
ya, i've been puttin away my pennies for a new/used KWS Signature Strat... i demo'd one the other day and LOVED it... I really like to hear him play the slower blues stuff, so much soul there but he can flat rip on hendrix as well... a rightful heir to the SRV/Billy Gibbons texas style blues throne...
i had higher hopes for johnny lang when he was younger, he could just SMOKE a guitar when he was 16-17yrs old, but now most of his licks all sound the same... he just hasn't developed as much as KWS has over the years... so ya, I can totally see that happening...
Johnny Lang had it before rehab. Glad he's sober, but he seemed to lose his soul in playing. KWS is one of my all time favorites. He comes right behind SRV in my book even though his last alblum was a bust in my book.
I am going to the hendrix show sat night in st.louis at the fox , wife got me some killer floor seats. I have seen kws about five times and he has some of the best strat mojo going can anyone tell me who he married. little kws trivia. as far as johnny lang he was hot for a while but after rehab, he got saved... nothing wrong with that but it did change his music. i seen him a couple years ago in st.louis and bought a cd from his street team and funny thing is ....cd cover and cd says johhny lang but it is not him singing on the cd.
seven have you seen the cd/dvd from kws called ten days out?? some of the oldest blues players alive play with him, very good. also did you look at the road warn series of fender stats yet, 57 and the 62 all lac finish with fat tremolo and old style saddles very nice. it's as close to any orig vintage strat out there Imoa. of course :D
i've already got a 50th anniv strat that has Abby Ybarro wound CS54 pickups, Ash body, maple neck... can't get closer to vintage than that on a production line guitar... I tried the road worns, meh, they're ok, but for the same price I'd buy an american standard first... much nicer guitar overall imho
+100 the only starts i have any desire to own are the american standard strats with the vintage noiseless pickups Teles, those i love lol I currently almost exclusivly play ESP guitars, and am in love with my Basson Endorsment KWS shreds, no doubt, check out brad paisleys hendrix stuff if you can find it, unreal.
went to the show at the fox in st.louis last night, and your right kws was the show, it had to be hard for satch to go on after him because kws can play effortlessly while also being a great showman as Hendrix was. johnny lang was alright he is better when he doesn't try so hard and over sing it. love susan tedeshi wish she would tour the midwest so i could see her do her own stuff. I had to think that sitting on a coach in heaven was hendrix, srv.and jeff healy all watching kennny play voodoo child and when it was over the all spontaneous said...'' ya.. thats my boy'' at the same time then looked at each other in a moment of silence and then nodded.
Love that mental picture right there..... RIP boys susan edeshi is amazing isnt she? Check out Orianthi, another unreal female guitarist
susan can sing her a$$ off!!!!!!!! and was all dressed up, looking good too! had a kinda 60's look going for her.
