I deliver Pepsi to gas station for a living and today this youmg girl got gas and went to pay with a check but she didn't have enough money to do so. The manager is kind of a ****** and was tellimg her if she left the parking lot hed call the cops even though he had all her information. She told him shed be right back with cash but he insisted he had to call them immediately. She went out to her car balling. I couldnt take it anymore so I asked the guy how much she owed. It was a whopping $20.21.
So I ran out to her car and told her id pay for it so the cops weren't called and told her if she wanted to pay me back she could leave it at the store and if she didnt I had no name to go looking for. She came back 20 minutes later and paid me back. Wasn't really expecting it but she was very shocked someone would do that for a stranger.
    Merry Christmas everyone!

The warm fuzzy of helping a stranger is more reward than the money spent anyway. Way to go Dan!

Two weeks ago, I stopped at a sub shop and ordered my sandwich. When they completed the masterpiece I handed them my debit card and the young lady said "Oh, I'm sorry our credit card machine does not work." I didn't have cash and asked where the nearest ATM was. The manager said "Didn't she tell you the machine was down before you ordered?" I replied that my hearing isn't very good and she might have, but I didn't hear her. The manager snorted "Just give him the sandwich." I thought a few choice words, but decided I would come back and pay for the sandwich after I finished my finals that evening. After class I stopped at a convenience store and got the cash. Drove to the sub shop and it was closed (9:30 PM).
Last week I went back to the store and the same young lady was on duty with the same manager. The girl remembered me and I explained I returned that evening to pay but they were closed for the evening. The manager scowled "We close at 9:00". When I said I had made the stop to pay for the sub, he retorted with something to the fact that they could not put money in without ringing it up and if they rang it up without using the ingredients it would throw their daily inventory off.
I looked at the lady behind me that had ordered and told her I was going to buy her lunch. She smiled and thanked me and then I paid the young girl working there for the lady's sub with a twenty, which was enough to cover my previous sandwich too, and told her to keep the change.
As I walked out the customer and the young girl wished me a Merry Christmas in unison. Made me smile as I hoped it screwed up the manager's books.

Mark your a good guy!!! It just makes you feel so good. The girl looked at me like I was nuts for offering to pay it. The smile she gave me was worth it all.

I say we make Sunday BHC Pay it Forward Sunday and challenge everyone on here to pay it forward for just one stranger. Could help cheer up quite a few givers and receivers alike.

Had a similar thing happen recently. I was in line to buy gas and a young man was paying at the register a few people in front of me. I noticed he was buying like $1.50 in gas with change. I had planned on buying $40 in gas but when I got to the register I only bought $20. When I got to the parking lot I saw he had his wife and a baby in the car, so I walked over and asked him how far he had to go. He told me "not that far". I handed him the other 20 I had and told him I didn't want to see him and his family walking down a back road at night and to go back in and get more gas. The look on his face was more than enough reward for me. He ran in and paid and then came back and handed me a 10 and told me how appreciative he was, but couldn't take the whole 20. Never told anyone about this but my wife.

I don't think we need a "pay it forward" day, we should all do what we can everry day.

great thread and good to hear of all the kindness going around! My wife and I do similar things just because. last week my wife went to get her new tires put on her car, and there was a 80+ year old lady with a ford escort from the early 90's getting something fixed in her car and the guy behind the counter said it was gonna be $80, the old ladies eyes lit up in horror, she said ok just a minute please, went and sat down with tears in her eyes looking at her check book. this was disturbing my wife, just then my wife was called saying her car was ready, so she went up and paid both balances and walked out the door got in her car and left.
if more people would just stop and look whats going on around them and worry a little less about themselves the world would be a much better place!!

Oh and one more thin to add, just yesterday my wife called while I was at work. She told me she had been in the shower and heard our dogs raising hell in the living room. She got out of the shower to check it out and didn't see anthing out front so she assumed there were deer running through the yard and went back to getting ready. When she opened the door to leave a envelope dropped out. It only said merry Christmas on it. Inside was $140 cash and a note saying to use this for whatever you need. Not signed. This is the 2nd time something like this has happened. Last year almost identical circumstances only the envelope only said God is good and had $200 in it. That time it came at a time where we REALLY needed it.

There are still great people in the world and we are blessed to know some of them. Even if we don't know who it is.
