So I'm thinking about replacing the fletchings on some of my Easton Bloodlines and was wondering if anyone had an easy way to remove the original fletchings and whatever kind of glue they use to hold them on. Any advice would be really appreciated!
Bohning arrow fletching remover or another brand called the "zip strip" either one works. If you plan on fetching your arrows in the future its worth the investment I think. As far as glue I love g5 blue glue. But pine ridge is decent as well as goat tuff. Sent from my LG-H910 using Tapatalk
I'll have to do this next time, I used a razor blade and cut my hand but oh well. Like my old man always said, you never learn by doing it right the first time!
I use a pocket knife and then some sandpaper to smooth off the last bit of glue. Finally I wipe it down with a rag and a little acetone. Go slow with the knife and take several small cuts instead of trying to peal everything off at once so that you don't gouge the shaft. For glue I like Gorilla Glue super glue. Doesn't take very much. I know it seems backwards but too much glue makes the vanes not stick as well. Sent from my VS500 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Razor blade to take off, goo gone to get glue off, sand paper or steel wool to get glue off, alcohol then let dry. Once arrow is dry apply new vane Semper Fi
