I need some advice. I have my bow sighted in at 20 yards. Can shoot well at 20 yards. I go to sight my second pin in at 30 yards and I'm all over the place. I have it at the right level but I hit on the right then left then below then up. I get bulls eye sometimes and then not. Getting frustrated. Have the IQ MICRO BOW SIGHT. Any tips?????

Well sounds like it could be a few problems. Could be you have something loose(sight, rest, d-loop, etc). If that is not the case then you really need to focus on your 20 yard shots and really practice. It very well could be a consistency problem. You might not be shooting as well as you think you are. Remember off targets get magnified the farther you are shooting. Good luck

I would have someone watch you or video tape your shot to see if you are punching the trigger or torquing your bow.....possibly both

Need to ensure everything is tight and maybe visit a pro shop. Shoot a bunch at 20 then ease back. Hard to say here.

I could be wrong but I think you need to calibrate those IQ sights with the retina lock before sighting in ??? Seems like your torquing the bow either way, keep practicing and trying to improve on form. I agree with an above comment on have someone video you shooting and keep watching it and put it in slow mo to see what your doing wrong if you are. Best of luck!!!

Shoot out to 40 then come back to 30 and let me know how you do.

I shot for hours everyday at 10 yards when I first started because I was doing good and that's what made it fun. Unknowingly, I was perfecting my form, strengthening the muscles as well as learning muscle memory. But if I got one thing out of it, it's about how you shoot, not how many times. I like to pretend I'm about to shoot the buck of my life and really try and focus on a smooth draw, consistent anchor point and smooth release. Shoot at 20 until you can put all your arrows within at least 1/3 inch of each other and move back in 5 yard segments to hold confidence. Good luck bud

Sounds like you may be punching the trigger as your pin floats around the target. I would recommend getting a hinge back tension release and you can pick one up used in the 30 dollar range. Its a great training device for your mind and once you can shot one well, it won't matter what release you shoot you will be a better shot.

Here is what I did to get better at distance. Shoot 1" dots at 20 then move out to 30. Don't shoot the same spot. Get consistent at hitting those little dots before you move back. You will see a big difference in your accuracy.

When I first started doing this it was all I could do to shoot a 260-270 on a 20yd Vegas round. I am now hitting right at 300 now. Shooting distance is all about the fundamentals and being consistent with them.

I also shoot distances greater than I am really good at to get better. Sighting in is not fun when you aren't consistent. The frustration was not fun for me in the least.
