My wife is using a 306 grain arrow and using 75 grain muzzy broadheads. Her bow is set on 40# at a 25" draw. The IBO rating on the bow is 306. She's shooting 216fps and getting roughly 31ft/lbs of kinetic energy. What do you recommend me sighting her sights in at as far as yardage goes? 15/25/35? Or less?

I would do 20 and 30 personally. If her shots between 15 and 20 are way off maybe do 15, 23, 30. I dont think she should shoot out past 30 yards. This setup should do her good.

i agree set her up with just 20 and 30 yards and if this is her first time hunting i would defiantly have her try and take her first animal 20 yards or close just so she will develop confidence in her shooting. Let us know how she does this season if she goes out

Today we practiced and here was the result. We shot with broadheads.

From the latter at 15 yards she shot good hitting the 3 inch circle consistently.

From 10 yards, she shot pretty good groups.

From 15 yards, using the same pin, pretty good groups (better than the 10 yard groups actually).

From 25 yards, using the red pin (2nd pin), pretty good groups.

Then she used her bottom pin to shoot from 35 yards and was hitting pretty consistently.

The thing I'm worried about is at 35 yards the arrow seems to be moving pretty slowly. I'm kind of afraid of a deer jumping her string at 35 yards even though she is pretty spot on.

I shot 6 400 grain arrows from 41 yards today hitting the same 3 inch circle 6 out of 6 times. Great day of shooting.
