There is a center piece of cartilidge(sp?) That's runs the entire length of the nose. I use needle nose pliers and pull it out, generally everything comes with it.

Just pull it all out. After it is mounted you won't be about to see it anyway. Use a mixture of Borax and Dawn soap to really get it clean. Make sure to simmer not cook the head.

I used needle nose pliers as well. Cheated a little as well, at the time I did mine I had a car wash down the block. Tools $1.50 in quarters and sprayed the heck out of it. Washed all the matter from inside the cavities. Definitely faster than scraping and wiping.

The pliers idea works, otherwise just let it keep soaking and occasionally take it out and pick it/hose it down. I had to boil mine for quite a while (10-12 hours) and the nose pieces eventually just fell off and I just glued them back on!

So...soak it and hose it down and if those pieces fall off, no big deal, just save them and glue them on later!

pack it with borax and let it sit overnight. come back in the morning and use needle nose pliers and it should come right out.

I use a screw driver to scramble the brain more or else. Will be tougher now that its cooked. Try to break it up is possible. Then tilt the skull back and grab with pliers.

Bend a coat hanger w/ a lil hook at the end then break up the brain best you can shake, rinse, and repeat

Borax is at the grocery store in the laundry booster section. Look for 20 Mule Team Borax.
