Hey everyone, looking for some advice from people with experience.

I'm currently shooting a Bear Escape. My knuckle head friend was over and was try to pull 70# draw, after I asked him not to, I left the room for a sec and BAM dry fire. How is in the shop.

It's my only bow and I'm feeling the pain of not having a second bow.

I'm considering a Hoyt Defiant Carbon. My draw is 29.5" and everything I've read so far, the turbo and the 34 would be a good fit.

Any advice on which to get?

Matter of preference really. But I do have to ask do you really need a carbon bow? You could use what you save going with the aluminum riser to get some really great accessories.

Aside from that you probably want to shoot the turbo and the 34. I have drawn the turbo and don't think its that bad but several others have the opinion its an aggressive draw cycle. Some people like that though. With your draw length I would personally go with the 34 vice the turbo. Little extra A2A and brace will go along way and you are towards the top in dry length so loss of speed and energy should not be to much.

Remember the 34 defiant and turbo shoots like a 37 Ata bow and the standard shoots like a 34 the turbo cam is an aggressive cam over the new dfx cams the dfx cams draw nice not as nice as the z5 cams but they have the adjustable draw lengths on the dfx cams. I had a defiant I sold it though to buy a halon 6 then sold that to go back to a carbon spyder zt. I love the tunability of the z5 cams and the draw cycle is so smooth and I like a shorter Ata bow .

I just bought the carbon defiant 34 today. What an awesome bow. I did not shoot the turbo but love the 34 cuz it holds on target great. Also just my preference but I like a 7in brace height.

I took a test drive of the Defiant and the Carbon Defiant. The weight difference was phenomenal. I'd buy the Carbon in a heartbeat but then when the wife saw the sticker price I'd have a knife in the heart. :) While I was at the shop a guy let me shoot his Halon and it was an incredibly quiet bow. I'd like to shoot the Defiant again decked out for silence. It's an excellent bow.

If you're packing in the weight advantage of the Carbon would be nice. Still love my Alphamax too, though.
