This is my second year bow hunting and I need some recommendations for either gloves or mittens that will keep my hands warm. Last year I had a pair of early season gloves that I used into late season and that was absolutely awful so I'll be purchasing new ones this year. Thanks in advance, Gunnar Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like using a muff. I don't wear gloves and the muff allows my hands to stay warm and when I need them I just pull them out and the muff stays on my waist.
I hunt glove less as long as I can, this year I will have the fanatic glove from sitka that leaves the thumb and pointer open then I'll have the muff as well
I love using a muff as well, I wear a light weight sitka glove, this year the fanatic glove, or the traverse glove and use a muff in later months. Another setup is the new sitka incinerator flip mitt. Pricey but awesome. Artic shield makes some good mitts as well.
Another vote for lightweight or no gloves and a muff with hand warmers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
With my bow on my lap 80% of the time in stand, I need my left hand out and on the bow. In really cold weather I wear a Cabelas MT050 Glommit on my left hand (with or without a liner glove) and a light glove on my release hand, in my pocket.
I also use a muff, only bring gloves for the walk in and out or when tracking. I also find that placing something inside like a lighter that I move around between my hands keeping my fingers moving helps, it also seems to absorb and hold body heat from my hands.
I like Manzella bow hunting gloves. I have a few pairs of them, all different weights, and they do a great job at keeping my hands warm, and still provide a place for my release to pass through.
I just use a light weight glove for early season and a thin but warm glove for later. I also carry hand warmers in my pockets.
I wear a muff as well with hot hands. I also wear an thin early season glove only my left hand, no glove on my right hand, I hate to grab my bow and it is freezing.
My wife got me this hand muff for my bday, I haven't used it yet so this season will tellhow well it works. http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2321-20 They also have heated hoodies, I would like to try. I going to try this hand muff first and see how well it works.
Like most here, I rely on my muff more often then not.. that being said, if it's super cold I'll throw on a pair of thinner gloves then toss a pair of those mittens that flip to be fingerless on top of the thin gloves. Works really well!
