Hey yall, I have alot of trail cam pictures of nice deer. But they are at our corn and apples feeding during the night. 90-95% of our pictures are at night. We got a nice 8 pointer that scores probly 115 and a 7 pointer that has a huge spread that scores probly 125. I went and got a rattle bag and I got a Buck Commander Call. I also made a scrape with Tinks #69 Doe In Rut and it looks like it has got some activity on it. A guy at ****s Sporting Goods said to hunt spots other than the food. So thats what Im going to start to do, BUT IM WONDERING HOW TO GET THE DEER TO COME IN MORE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. Any help is appreciated.:tu:

Figure out where they are bedding and then find their travel route from the food to that bedding and hunt that area. Try catching them coming or going and be sure to set up so that your scent is being blown away from where the deer are coming.

I agree with phillip, then once you catch deer movement you can always relocate your stand once again to get closer to the action. good luck.

You said corn and apples. Are you talking bait piles? I have no issue with baiting, but it can definitely make deer go nocturnal.

Hunt away from the food source as said, but keep in mind that it's rut, so the best way to hunt a buck is by hunting does. If you're seeing a lot of doe activate at the food during the day, I'd just stay put until after the rut.

i mean i got 1 doe that was pretty small at about 5:00 but thats the only doe weve had on trail camera during the day the past 2 weeks or so. I mean I know were there going and were there bedding but we saw 7 about 2 weeks ago in a blind one evening i just couldnt get a shot. It is a small area of land. Just tryin to figure the best way to lure em in during shooting hours.

So you are trying to get the deer to come to you instead of going to them? Why wouldn't you want to move your setup closer to where there are traveling? Is it off the property you can hunt?

Its pretty close to off the property. Its not that there not close. There not coming in at all. If they do I caint get a shot because the place is pretty thick.

If you where seeing them and you are not anymore and you are hunting the same spot on a small piece of land the problem might be the hunting pressure. Several factors can play in. If your hunting it regardless of wind because you are limited on places to hunt they may be on to you. I have been there, stick it out anything can happen during the rut.

I mean its like 8 acres to hunt. Its not big but its enough to hunt there. How do I figure out wind direction before i go out? Is there something online that tells you wind direction? What should I do because of the " hunting pressure ."

weather.com is great for wind directions.... use milkweed to keep testing wind while you're in the stand.
