The woman wants a new video camera with the baby coming and all.... I really know nothing about them. Can you guys hook me up with pointing me in the right direction in finding a decent camera for use on around the house stuff in the $300 range? Something that would be easy for her to use, not laced with tons of features she will never learn how to use... What format? Mini dv, DVD etc? Thanks.
Sony 30 Gb Hard Drive cam...its the only one i have experience with. Stay away from tapes, a external hard drive is all you need.
So the truth comes out..........:d If you are getting it for that purpose, you should be more worried about a good zoom.
I think you're looking at about 20 hrs of recording time. Also, take note on the size of the lens. Bigger lens means more light gathering capability. Excellent for low light situations which is what you'll probably want if you're going to be in the delivery room. :d
Oh no, I am not recording that.... This will be her camera.. I have my own. I will not use it at all.
Scott, I asked the same ? to a couple of tech gurus I work with and they suggested the one in the middle. It's from a current MicroCenter ad.
So far i have nothing bad to say about my sony handy cam mini DV. You still naming that baby Dink or Dink'ett? :d
buckeye, I have the Sony HandyCam with the 30 gig HD and 40X optical Zoom. It's a pretty awesome camera for just under 400 when I bought it. It was supposed to be our "family" camera, but it spend quite a bit of time in trees this past fall. I camo'd it with predator arrow wraps and did the same to the camera arm. She says that I need to fix it. I got news, I'll be the guy in the delivery room in late June/early July with a bad ass predator camera.
