The green circle is where I thought I hit him. High. Uggg. I was 23 feet in the tree and the deer was @14 yards. I went another 50 yards from first blood found nothing so I backed out. [IMG]

Also, he made a loud "blat" sound at impact, leg kicked and fell down from the high leg kick before he regained footing and bounded off.

That puddle is where he stopped to see what spooked him. If you gave him time he is a dead deer where you can find it.

if you were 23 high and the deer was 14 yds then its good you hit a little high. your exit will be a little low. i just shot a doe like that. went in top of one lung and exited bottom off offside lung. That is good blood right there.
