I know there are many posts on this, but I am looking for help with my specific setup.

    I am shooting a PSE Surge, 28.5" DL, 60#.

Currently I am shooting Maxima Red 250s with 100 gr field points. I am planning on shooting a fixed blade broadhead and want to get some advice on whether 100 gr is going to be a good setup when paired up with my Maxima Red 250s for whitetail hunting.

    Thanks in advance

100 grain tip is plenty for deer. 250's seem to be a bit heavy on the spine, but I don't have their chart in front of me so I can't say for sure.

100gr is fine. You'll have a faster arrow than if you went with a 125gr but you might lack a bit of kinetic energy.

Just make sure you are between 7% and 15% FOC and you will be fine.

250's should be fine.. I'm using 350's and pulling 75lbs. Also the 100g broadhead is fine as long as your not using like 5 inch plastic veins and wraps etc on the other end of you're arrow. Want to keep the sweet spot on the FOC % if at all possible.

So yes your red 250's and a good fixed blade will serve you well. However, your really only adding another 28grains "not even" if you go with 350's, in case you ever decide you want to shoot you're bow maxed out, Just something to think about for the future, hope this helps.

^^^^^ the arrows are designed specifically for this, however some study's show that it may be somewhat of a marketing technique. I shoot the arrows and love them personally.
