So I have this cough, had it for a week or better... I need it gone for tomorrow... I nearly lost my voice for a couple days from it, or the cold...

I have been taking mucinex for a few days to help break it up, it has worked fairly well at that. Now, if I wake up tomorrow and the cough isn't gone... What is the best remedy / over the counter medicine to suppress it.

I do have a cough silencer that I have never used before, but it will be in tow with me tomorrow!

If I still have this cough, I doubt I will be able to hunt. Hunting time is a premium these days and I really do not want to miss the hunt....

Mucinex Is a good one. Ever tried a hot Brandy? Heat up some Brandy and put some honey In It and take that before you go to bed.

It isn't the cough, it is the noise associated with it that would cause me to miss the hunt.... Bonehead...

2 tablespoons of natural honey ( the real stuff is best if you can find it)
the juice from half of a lime
    a pinch of salt
mix it real good drink it up and then eat an ice cube it will sooth the cough for a few hours (4 -6)
I use this and then I take honey lemon cough drops in the stand with me.
worked great last year I had a cough for 9 weeks

Here is what works for me. Take a double dose of your favorite laxative. Now you will be afraid to cough.

ohhh what works best for me when i have one is some strong mint gum, get a pack, take out like 4 pieces and when they go bad put another in your mouth, the mint suppresses the itchy felling fore temporary relief if works great for me, i always have mint gum, just in case i have a cough or a sneeze or runny eyes

I would bet nothing is going to make it go away soon enough, so I am guessing that cough drops is going to be the best option.

Same formula as my dad, does it work? I always thought he did that so he had an excuse to carry a bottle in his pocket, instead of under the seat of his truck!

Hope you can shake it Scott!

Can't believe no one has said this one yet:

Go to Wally World and look in the medicine section. A bag of cherry Equate cough drops costs about $3 or so... fill your pockets with them and suck on them throughout your hunt.

I have to do that every once in a while... really helps with that tickle in your throat. In fact, I keep five or six of them in my fanny pack at all times.

My cough isn't driven by a tickle in my throat but from the chest.

It is much better today than it was the past few days, it is the worst in the morning.

This was going to be my answer. But he stole it.

Otherwise mucinex helps loosen things upwhen my chest is congested. You could also rub vick's on your chest at night, that can help too.
