Any suggestions .We have a guy put his stand on property line. He has areas cleared out on both sides. We suspect he is shooting deer on our side (private property).

How about to try to meet up with him to discuss your hunting plans. It's always good to be on the same page as your neighboring properties. Why happens if you are unpleasant with him an then you shoot a deer that then goes onto his property? Keep the peace!

Ha...I'd make an effort to catch him in the stand every time he is in it and drive a tractor right by the stand with a mower running about a foot off the ground, then mow a little bit shorter, then a little bit shorter. Sooner or later even an idiot would get the message.

When you say trees cleared on both sides, you mean lanes cut on your property? I'd try to catch up to him or the property owner and talk with him. Keeping the peace is best, and would be the best situation.

The magic word doesn't always work...if he has been on my property cutting shooting lanes I don't give a rat's butt what I do to the jerk.

we have tried talking to him. And nothing. Tell him to turn his stands so they ate not facing our side. He won't. You and everyone eles know if they is a slob on my side he will shoot it. what can I do but make it so bad for him that he won't come back?

Adopt a stray dog and pen it up about 60 yards on your side of the property line and near his stand. Walk by the stand every time he's in it and stop and take a leak over on your property. Put a camera over on your side of the fence and try to catch him trespassing and nail his butt.

If you don't have proof hes shot on or been on your property not much you can do that you haven't. Its within his rights to put a stand on the property line.

no but it's Hunter law. you don't cross lines. you don't mess with other people property they work hard for. you try and respect each other and move forward. it's an unwritten rule every Hunter should follow.

One of my stand locations is positioned right on our property line (still 30 yds up from actual line), but faces directly back toward our property. It utilizes a ridge that splits the two properties, a ridge that the deer use to travel from water to bedding areas. I caught my neighbor driving by this spot (our property) in his UTV earlier this season, and getting out and walking onto my property to check my stand out.

How am I breaking a universal hunting code by utilizing prime locations on MY land?

Because you not sitting on the line with your stands facing onto my property. I don't think anyone would want that. And everyone should have enough respect foot your neighbor. all I ask was for him to turn his stands so they are not facing my side. is that just so much to ask? am I so wrong to want to protect what I work hard for?

He said it was right on the property line. Here in MO and I think even in KS, it's generally accepted that as you face your fence from your property, the right hand half of the fence is yours and your responsibility. If he's on your half you might have a bit more leverage but that's just a guess.

    1. Try talking
    2. Give it some time.
    3. Call the game wardens
    4. Put up a 10' 220volt electric fence with strobe lights, alarms, video cameras, rigged loud speakers to play Ice cream truck music and a laser motion sensor pointed at his stand. When he gets in it, it will cause him to crap his pants. Eventually maybe he will get the point.

Is the property line well marked. I'd start there. If there are trees or branches cut on your property I'd either warn him about a trespassing fine or talk with a warden. I don't know the deer movement between properties but if possible I'd hinge cut the fence line making a deer barrier preventing deer movement in the area.

Ive been here before, unfortunately. A VERY large brushpile along the fence seems to do the trick. A JD tractor and a JD skid loader are very helpful for making the brushpile extra tall, not that I would know :D
