My dad breeds dogs has been for 40 years pitbulls and dobes .that dog looks alot like a pit in the face and body the tail and longer hair and muzzle are from another breed though just look at the cheaks and forehead and eye sockets its a terrier mix of some kind 99 percent positive .i have a bunch of dogs lol and my wife has a pit mix that looks alot like that alot when i get home tonight ill take pics of him if you want hes almost the same color but yours looks more red ours is a buckskin meaning its the red fawn color with a little bit of black in the coat ask your vet i bet they say terrier mix though.
Vet said that he is Terrier/ Retriever mix. Wouldn't you know it--- The day after I got him back from the vet we found the true owner... That was $80 I should have waited to spend for a couple more weeks! Was a happy/sad reunion...
Go to your local animal shelter. They would love to set you up with your new best friend. I have found that the mix breed mutts usually make the best pets. Most all dogs will make fine companions if you just spend a little time with them
by "terrier" the vet meant American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier (nearly the same breeds.) The other part was likely a golden retriever. Having had a half pit/half yellow lab before, I'll tell you they can be great dogs. Ours exhibited mostly lab traits and was a great duck dog. It's sad, but it seems like over 75% off all shelter dogs are bull terrier mixes.
