Maybe this will work for ya. If your PC has a DVD burner, you can make a DVD of your movie from Movie Maker. Note This feature is only available for PCs with Windows DVD Maker (Windows 7 includes Windows DVD Maker). Here's how: 1. In Movie Maker, open the movie project that you want to burn to DVD. 2. On the Home tab, in the Share group, click the arrow next to Save movie, and then select Burn a DVD. 3. Name your movie and then click Save. After it's saved, follow the instructions to burn a DVD.
I'm not sure this will help much... In Windows Live Movie Maker you do need to use the Save Move option on the top, second from right option. And there are some options available (Burn a DVD, For Computer, or others). I assume you went this route and have tried both the For Computer and Burn a DVD option... In Windows Movie Maker 2.6 (an earlier version, the option is "Save Movie File...", My Computer (for the Movie Location, choose the file name and place/folder...the file type is actually hidden on the next page under the "Show more choices..." link under the Other settings radio button-the drop down option dictates the File type shown at the bottom of the page. I figure you've mastered the above already, but storing those notes with this thread. With the help of google, the Magnavox DVD player should play standard DVD formats and MP3 (in the VBR Variable bit rate; format-sampling frequency of 44.1Khz or 48Khz) or jpeg files. The zenith may play other formats too, but should also play DVD formats and Mp3, sorry for being vague but without a specific model, its the best I could do... Both the Zenith and Magnavox sites are weak on documentation. I found a note for Microsoft Movie that if the video is sped up or slowed, the audio is muted by default, so that may also be biting you. If you can write the DVD on the computer and play it back if you have audio on the computer that should eliminate one additional variable.
Thanks for the info, it will be awhile before I can try it, work schedule is nuts right now! I have a feeling part of my problem is using the transfer utility software that came with my cam to load my files into the computer. I think im going to try to use the media card port to load files when I try again. I had been hooking up the cam to the computer and using that transfer utility.
