Hi Guys. I thought I should paper tune my bow because I had field points all sighted in went to try broadheads and hitting target was off. So I hope to attach photos, I have tail hit to left at 6ft, tail hit to right at 10 & 15 yards and at 20yds looks good, repeated with same results with different arrow. I can't shoot any farther than 20yds at my home and that is pusing it I have to shoot from driveway though garage into back yard. I had moved my rest left & right at 6ft and got no diffence so I put it back and I tryed adjusting my limbs by one turn no differnce even tried a couple other odd ball arrows I had sitting around can get no change. Any ideas what to try next or or why I would be having such a hard time with this? Thanks in advance for any ideas.
You could try Walk Back tuning if you cant get the results you are after. watch this and it should get you in the ball park, mate http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f25Wr1EULRg
What kind of broadheads? This might not apply to you, but paper tuning is usually not the issue of bad arrow flight w/hunting tips if you're getting good flight with field tips -- although I enjoy doing it too and fully endorse paper tuning. If you had on fixed broadheads, you should try doing the fingertip/spin test. Often times, broadheads, especially Muzzy's are not coming off your arrow straight. You can spin the point of the broadhead on your fingertip and feel the off-weight balance easily just by feel. If it doesnt spin totally straight on your finger or you feel it kind of favoring one side more, it wont fly straight either. Just slightly tweak/bend your broadhead around a bit until you get it spinning straight. Then you can achieve better arrow flight with broadheads. IMO if you use fixed, this is the only real way to get them to fly right. I've seen perfectly paper-tuned bows that couldnt fly a Muzzy right unless the broadhead was straight coming off the shaft. Also check your vein size. You might wanna go up to longer veins to help it stabilize.
