hello guys this is my first post so please bear with me. Anyways im about to go on a elk huntin trip in september with my bow. i have a parker phonix and it is 2 1/2 years old. over the last few months it seemed to be getting easier to pull back, so i cranked it up all the way and took it in too cabelas to let them look at it. They put it on a scale and it pulled 47lbs! The problem with that is its a 70LB bow! Can yall let me know what the problem is before i go hunting, thanks alot.

You've got BAD LIMBS!!!! Better make a call TODAY!!! That Phoenix wasn't a "cheap" bow either as I remember.

Parker is known for their customer service. I'd make a call and get it taken care of.

Before getting all crazy about it measure everything and see how far out of spec. the axle to axle length, brace height and draw length are. If they are the original string and cables (which weren't very high quality from Parker) then they have probably crept a lot. Get them replaced and the bow should come back in spec. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the accuracy of that scale. A 23# difference in draw weight from what it's supposed to peak at is really extreme. It may be a limb problem but start with the cabling first, they need to be replaced anyway.

I'd bet on stings and cables as well. Most new bows don't come w/ set high quality strings. If it is a limb problem Parker will take care of it right away. I've delt w/ them and they are great.
