I shot a buck last night and the shot was low near or under the heart and wasnt a through shot buck bedded Down 50 yards away but when I got down to sneek out it jumped up and ran when I came back 2 hours later I found 6 15 inch round piles of blood from where it jumped up but it ran up a hill and the arrow fell out then the blood spots got really small but was able to track for anouther 75 yards b4 we lost blood here is a pic of the blood what do u think is it dead we backed out and now I'm sick with worry
I think you have a very long day of tracking ahead of you. What is you location? Could call in some dog trackers if your state allows it. I started to back out for 12 hours after a shot if I'm not 100% sure of a shot placement.
Agreed. You better give it some time. Hard to tell by the blood. What kind of broad head are you shooting? May indicate how much internal damage you created.
The worst part is it rained here in wisconsin last night so I don't really know what I'm in for but thanks for the replies
Slow and low, it might be hard to see the blood but it will be there. Do not give up confidence you need that, hard to track with doubts filling your mind sure sounds like the deer is dead.
Just finished my first track last night. Find the blood and stand directly behind looking in the direction he was going, go very slow and work out a few general ideas of where he may have went. ALWAYS mark the last spot of blood you found so when it gets real thin and you start to search up a trail on a guess you can come back and try another path.
