Without becoming socialists, we can't just ban trucks, airplanes, fertilizers, necessary household chemicals, knives, tobacco, red dye, pharmaceutical drugs, alcohol, fatty meats, caffeine, sugary drinks, processed foods, machinery in general as well as a host of known chemicals (herbicides and pesticides) - that - throughout history have killed tens of thousands / yet at the same time are used lawfully by the overwhelming majority. Limits on common sense gun ownership will not stop a sick individual with a twisted ideology from killing - but it can restrict our ability to defend ourselves utilizing the full weight of the second amendment. Guns are an easy political target - as are the freedoms we have in America an easy adversarial target among those who hate us in the world. Yamamoto and Zhukov both warned their respective Nations that an invasion of mainland America would find a gun on every roof, in every door and window and behind every tree. Most of the rest of the world do not have that comforting deterrent.....
