ok so here is my problem, i have a bowtech assiassan love the bow shoots great but latley when i have been shooting the forward cable has been popping out of the cable slide, everytime i release it pops right out and make a very loud TWANG!!. i dont know what the problem could be i have read about putting silicone on the cable rod all the way to just straight out replacing it im not being cheap but if i can get some help with out replacing it that wold be great. thanks for anyone who can help.
This is exactly what you didn't want to hear. Quit being a cheap skate and invest in a good cable slide. That was the first thing I did when I bought my Assassin. A cheap fix or a work-around isn't worth it. Give the Saunders Hyper-Glide a look. http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/Hyper-glide-Cable-Slide__1815.aspx
not being a cheap skate, i just live FAR away from anything. but thank you very much for find a good cable slide. i do appreciate it.
So bow tec is making crappy parts,is what I get from y'all.....Chinese plastic? I'm sure u guys paid top dollar for those ''bows''....Whatever happened to the old addage''U get what u pay 4!'' Not disrespecting u'r equipment or u'z,just seems like bad business practice to me. Are bow tec made here or afar?
I suggest putting the saunders cable slide on any bow that still uses a cable slide. All manufactured cable slides work, but are not the best quality. My pro shop sells Bowtech, PSE, Matthews, and Hoyt. Now a lot of these bows no longer use slides, but the first thing he will tell you on any of them that do is replace the slide. Amazing how someone asks for help and someone attempts at bashing his bow choice. If it is popping out, I think that is your only choice. I am not an expert though, or a great handy man, so maybe someone has a better option or better advice.
