Have made the decision to invest in a bow ,and start shooting .Went out to an archery shop and was recommended the Hoyt charger. Liked the bow allot had the pleasure of shooting it. What do you think of this as an entry level bow for a new shooter ???I only intend to target shoot as I am not a hunter .Do you think money could be spent better on something else ???
Go with a black mission ballistic. $449 naked and in my opinion well worth the cash. Very forgiving, fast, nice solid backwall with a pretty smooth draw cycle for a dual cam bow. The avs cams are nice. I will be buying another one soon for sure. Caught the speed bug and went to a faster bow and now i miss my mission. Hope it helps just noticed you had no replys
Maybe buy a decent used bow for cheap and see if you like it, work with it for a while and save up for a better bow down the road.
The bow you buy will call to you. Do not go with what the bow shop is trying to unload. Shoot a few and you should have one or two that feel right. Caution! You may get Hooked! Break out in a Fever! and be Hunting in the Fall. Get a Good Bow! They all target shoot.
I'm a Hoyt Fanboy so I'm biased to start with. Lots of companies make good bows though, I'd consider a Prime by G5 if I no longer had a nearby Hoyt dealer. Bows now are kinda like new vehicles, they are all pretty decent and especially compared to what I grew up shooting. Speaking of which, you could also try traditional.
If this is a entry level bow you want, that Hoyt is top of the line. Unless you have a lot of cash floating around I would start out cheaper and get comfortable with shooting and then make a decision on a dream bow if you really like it. But I am not going to lie I want a Hoyt Spyder turbo, just cant justify the money.
Im in the same boat as you as I am looking for my first bow. I've had a lot of guys tell me to try a hands on demo of a mission and my local pro shop owner keeps showing me matthews (which is the same company just different lines) both are awesome bows but mainly the matthews just feels so much more right in my hands.....just a couple more days and i'll have mine (gotta wait for tax return lol).......try a few different bows and select the one that calls to you.....take in consideration of what the value is worth to you......but overall make sure it is the bow that you want for your reasons not for everyone else's.....
I purchased the Hoyt Charger last year. I absolutely love it. I shot my first deer with the bow with it. It is an awesome bow for the money. If you liked the way it shot in the pro shop, you will not be disappointed by it. The new setup is even better with the drop away rest.
I love my hoyt charger ive shot pses mathews bowtechs and id pick a hoyt anyday of the week but if ur just gonna target shoot then id reccomend getting a less expensive bow like a bear, pse etc
