I am about to pull the trigger on 2 new trailcams. I need advice. I am planning to spend no more than $200 ea. Hit me with your opinions, experiences, likes, dislikes, etc. Post up example pics if you like. I want the best possible battery life and trigger speed in this price range. I care not about video clips. I do want to be able to run like at least a 2G SD card. Help a brutha out.
I just spent hours reviewing trail cameras comparing things like trigger speed, reviews, battery life, warranty, etc and I pulled the trigger on the Bushnell Trophy. A two year warranty on a trail camera is tough to beat. The one thing I discovered is you cannot fnd a perfect trail camera. There is not a camera made that doesnt get bad reviews or the occasional lemon thrown in. I'll report back when I receive the camera and can test it out.
If I had a budget of $400 to spend on cams, I'd likely end up with 4x Moultrie D40's. Just MHO, but I've had great success with mine and @ $100 a rip, they get the job done just fine. I always wish that I had more cams, I don't seem to have any issues with quality........
I think I may go the homebrew route next, but the D40 seems to be an overall good recommendation from many things I've read (including what RJ had to say).
I just did a review on the Trophy Cam. Seems to be a great little camera so far! http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?t=10377
Just got a D40 for xmas and set it up Tuesday morning. Batteries finally died Friday night but that was after 750 pics and daytime highs in the single digits and nighttime lows -20's. Picture quality was very good. I am more than pleased for a $100 camera.
i'd like to try out a cudde back Capture.. thanks for the info on the multri's as well.. right now i have 3 bushnell trophys, (one is getting replaced by bushnell) 1 wildview, one original Cudde Back IR ..and 1 trophy Sentry ..
Made a Purchase Going off lots of reviews and suggestions, I pulled the trigger on 2 D40's. Got them at $75 each. We shall see. About to put them out this weekend and see what is still around.
How is the trigger speed on the d40's? I'm in the same boat where I am debating on spending 200-300 on one good camera, or buy 2 or three cameras. I have a stealthcam right now and am tired of changing the batteries every week or two.
