I like LG, Samsung and Vizio. I'm sure you've done your research and kind find deals on any of them.

    This.

For the money and even more, vizio is hard to beat. Just read the reviews. Samsung and lg also make top notch products as well.

I just researched tv's for a few weeks and picked up a Samsung 55" 6100 LED 1080p, 120Hz, Smart TV for around 1k, worth every penny thats for sure! Full web browser with built in WiFi and all the Samsung apps built right in such as Netflix, Youtube etc.... I didn't see the need to spend a couple hundred more $$ for the 3D version. I went to hhGregg and they price matched what I found on fassie.com.

For the price you are talking about, might want to think Plasma? I was going to go with LG but when I compared it side by side the Samsung had a much better picture, to my eyes anyway!

Samsung is number 1 and LG number 2 when it comes to TV's!

Just make sure if it has the 3D effect that you can turn it off. It sucks. IMO

The TV I just bought is probably what you're looking for.

47" LG LED, 120hz. We sell it for $548, it was $598. I really, really like it. The picture is fantastic as well as the sound.

    It's a great tv for $548...

I'll add another vote for Vizio. My folks have had a Vizio since flat panel TVs became popular. They have never had a problem with any of them. I think they are on their third of fourth one in the living room. I'm thinking the latest upgrade should last them a while.

Not sure about the optical port but imo, a true surround system is much better. Check out onkyo package deals. Nice system at affordable price.

My new TV has the Netflix app built in, great way to use Nexflix. We just set up my buddies Netflix thru his Blu Ray, it only streams what you have in your queue, can't browse directly thru your TV, not user friendly IMO! Samsung also has optical outputs!

My folks new Vizio has a Netflix application...I think it runs on WiFi. They also have the Vizio sound bar which really pumps out good, quality sound.
