I know this will be moved but I have no idea where to put it so, since I trust most members here................I need to get a new computer and am looking at a Dell desktop. I am still using an old puter with Windows 98!!! Don't know how to make this bowhunting related other than saying I can visit Bowhunting.com better with one........lol. What is the difference between a regular desktop and the "Studio" desktops?
Not a clue! But we used cyberpower.com to customize our laptop. You can put together the same computer as the Dell but cheaper. Atleast when we bought ours it was cheaper than its Dell equivalent.
I've heard a lot of good things about Lenovo. I spoke with a computer scientist recently when I was in the market and he said you can build a Lenovo with the exact same specs as a Mac for about half the price
One of my computer clients/friends referred me to this guy. He buys laptops in bulk from corporations and refurbishes them. I needed a backup cpu and a lap top for traveling. $250.00 shipped to my door almost a year ago. The laptop and case still look brand new and it's still packed with a lot of great stuff. Call (570) 584-3388 and ask for Bob. Tell him what you're looking for and he'll let you know if he's got anything that fits your needs. I refer the hell out of this guy because I was so impressed with what I got and how he's helped several other referrals. Let me know if you use him.
I can tell you which one NOT to buy!! I've worked day in and day out for the last three years wtih HPs tablet pc 4400... I'm on my third monitor, second keyboard, had the hard drive reimaged three different times, and I've went through two wall AC adaptors already... Pieces of junk. I saw Apple is releasing a new one that promises to shake up the industry; I'm sure it's gonna be VERY spendy, but I'd like to see it.
I have a Toshiba and it has been a good one. This is actually my second go with them. My first laptop was a Toshiba and when it was time to upgade I stayed with them because the first one had been so good.
It really depends on what you will be doing with it. Just surfing the net? Think about getting one of the netbooks? cyberpowerpc.com? cyberpower.com didn't have any computers on it... just curious if I missed them.
Really? I hadn't put much thought into that. But, even if I got the top of the line anti-virus software wouldn't the price still be $600-700 less than a Mac? i don't know, I really like Macs also...I'm just not sure the increase price can be justified
IBM tends to draw the corporate market a bit more, but they're SOLID. Our school district uses Lenovo's, and we have a LOT. They withstand high school age student abuse daily, and keep cranking. I like Toshiba, Gateway, and HP as well. Dell has terrible support.
