This may sound like a dumb question to many of you, but bear with me... A couple of my nocks are starting to come loose, almost to the point of falling out. Now I am new to archery, and I don't quite know how to install new nocks, or fix the old ones. I have heard many people say to use glue, but many people would never think about gluing their nocks in! So here's the question.. How do you put your nocks in your arrows? Glue? Pins or Bushings? Thanks a ton!
What kind of arrows??? It can change between certain ones...Most all hunting style carbon arrows these days just use a press in nock...Pretty straight forward, slide the old nock out and push a new one in and turn it "index" it so your vanes line up right... Some arrows use a uni-bushing "Easton ACC shafts and some of the fat target shafts" which is a small aluminum bushing that presses into the rear of the shaft and the nock presses into that. Then you have Pin nocks which is an aluminum bushing that presses into the shaft and then has a small pin "little aluminum shaft" that sticks up and a pin nock has no real throat, just a hole in the bottom and it slides over the pin and kinda just sets on it.....Then you have the old school aluminum & wood shafts that have a tapered end and the nock glues over that....On press fit nocks DO NOT use glue on them, you'll never get them out if you break one....Sometimes nocks wear out over time and you need to replace them, pretty common thing....
I use Beman ICS Bowhunters. I believe they are 340 grain. I have only had these for about 2 months now, all target shooting.
Same arrows that I shoot. Yep just press in and index them for your vanes or fletchings. Can't be easier really.
